One-way exclusion

Bat removal

Bat removal in Central Florida is usually a Brazilian free-tailed colony, sometimes evening bats. The legal way out of a building is a one-way exit, and only after the young can fly.

The roof stays on. The door is a gap they can slip through, often where barrel tile meets the fascia, or at a gable. It is not a torn soffit.

Call or text. Tell us where they leave at dusk. The inspection is free. The price depends on the animal and the opening.

What you notice

This service is a colony in the roof or the wall. Call when animals stream out of one gap at dusk, or when droppings are stuck under that gap.

  • A stream of small animals leaving one gap at dusk. Birds move in the daytime, and the flight is different.
  • Dark, crumbly droppings stuck to the wall under that gap. Insect pieces in them.
  • A stain and a musky odor at the entry. Quiet in the middle of the day.
  • Noise in a wall at dawn and dusk.
  • One bat in a bedroom. That is a clinician question if anyone slept in the room. It is not proof of a colony.

What bat removal covers

The gap

Tile, fascia, or a gable. We count the openings before anything goes up.

The colony

A one-way exit, then the gap is built shut. Not a ride to another roost.

One in a room

Do not handle it bare-handed. A bat with a sleeper or a child goes to a clinician or the health department.

What stays true on every job

How bat removal works

  1. InspectWatch the emergence, name the bat, and see whether young can fly.
  2. RemoveA one-way exit when the rule allows it. Not a relocation.
  3. ExcludeBuild the gap shut after the colony is out and the nights qualify.
  4. RepairScreen and flashing so the next quarter-inch gap is not a door. The full steps are on the homepage.

Bat removal questions

How do I know bats are in the house?

They leave one gap at dusk, and the droppings under it are dark and crumbly, often stuck to the wall. The house is quiet in the middle of the day. A single bat in a bedroom is a separate question and goes to a clinician if anyone slept in the room.

When can bats be excluded in Florida?

Follow the current text of 68A-9.010. From April 16 through August 14, exclusion devices and anything that blocks the roost are prohibited. Outside that window, a one-way device stays up, including four nights forecast above 50°F, before the gap is built shut.

Do you relocate bats?

No. We do not poison bats and we do not move the colony. The legal method is a one-way exit, and only after the young can fly.

What if the droppings are in the attic?

We do not sweep dry guano and we do not power-wash it. If people will not be disturbing a small amount, leaving it can be the better choice. A heavy pile in a room people use is handled so the dust stays down.

How much does bat removal cost?

The inspection is free. The price depends on the animal and the opening. Call (321) 205-4972 or use the form and we look at the job before anyone names a number.
