What you notice
This service is a skunk denning under a shed, a deck, or a crawl space. Call when there is a low hole, hair, and that odor that is not the full spray.
- A low entrance under the structure, loose dirt, and a sweet-to-sulfur smell that is not a direct hit.
- A house-cat-sized animal with white stripes. That is the striped skunk. A smaller animal with broken white spots is the eastern spotted skunk. We name it before we talk about take.
- Tracks with five toes and long claws. Eggs missing from a coop that was open at ground level.
- Kits. We do not seal a den that still has young inside, and we do not publish one Florida birth month.
- A bite or a scratch. Stop and go to a clinician or the health department. Spray is not a rabies test.
