Rat removal

Rat removal in Central Florida is the gap. Rats in the attic or the wall get in through an opening. We find it and close it, then clean the site. We do not leave the hole for the next one.

The usual attic animal is the roof rat: slender, up in the insulation, traveling limbs, vines, and palm trunks. A heavy rat in a burrow along the foundation is a Norway rat. They are not the same route.

Call or text. Tell us if the noise is in the ceiling or at ground level. The inspection is free. The price depends on the animal and the opening.

What you notice

This service is rats in the attic, the soffit, or the wall. Call when you are finding pointed droppings, rub marks, or a gnawed gap, and the noise is after dusk.

  • Night scratching in the ceiling. Daytime activity is usually a heavy population or a different animal. A squirrel is on the roof in the daytime and leaves a chewed golf-ball hole.
  • Pointed droppings in the attic, about half an inch. That fits a roof rat. Blunt capsule droppings low along a foundation fit a Norway rat.
  • A gnawed gap. A rat needs about half an inch. A house mouse uses a pencil-sized gap, so a seal that only stops a rat can leave the mice.
  • Grease marks along a beam or a pipe, at the height they travel.
  • A limb, a vine, or a palm trunk on the roof. Cutting the bridge does not replace the hole repair.

What rat removal covers

The attic

Roof rats. Soffits, tile, and the path along the fascia. Fruit, pet food, and bird seed are the pantry.

The ground

Norway rats. A round burrow along a slab or under a board. Not the animal in the palm crown.

The gap

Closed to a quarter inch when mice may be with them. Hardware cloth, metal, and door sweeps. Foam is a chew.

What stays true on every job

How rat removal works

  1. InspectName the rodent from droppings, the level, and the hole. Map the fresh sign.
  2. RemoveTraps on the run they already use. Not a ride to the woods.
  3. ExcludeClose the gaps, including the quarter-inch ones, and take the aerial bridges off the roof.
  4. RepairSweeps, screens, and a clean attic so the next one has no door. The full steps are on the homepage.

Rat removal questions

How do I know it is a rat and not a squirrel?

Rats scratch after dusk and leave droppings along a beam. Gray squirrels run the roof in the daytime and chew a larger hole. If the fascia is torn outward, that is a raccoon.

What rat is in a Florida attic?

Usually the roof rat. It climbs. Limbs, vines, and palm trunks are the highway, and the nest is in the insulation or the soffit. A Norway rat stays low, in a burrow.

Do you just set bait?

The offer on this page is the opening, closed, and the site cleaned. We do not name a bait brand or a rate. A station with the soffit still open does not finish the house.

Will you relocate the rats?

No. We find the gap, close it, and clean the site. We do not leave the hole for the next one.

How much does rat removal cost?

The inspection is free. The price depends on the animal and the opening. Call (321) 205-4972 or use the form and we look at the job before anyone names a number.
