Birds on the roof

Rock pigeons, European starlings, and house sparrows are the three we can treat as unprotected. Other birds on the same building usually are not.

  • Three birds
  • No poison flock

Three birds, and then we stop

Pigeons

Rock pigeons are one of the three introduced birds treated as outside the migratory-bird law.

Starlings

European starlings are the second. We still identify them before anyone talks about taking a bird.

House sparrows

House sparrows are the third. Doves, grackles, swallows, and woodpeckers on that roof are protected.
